About the Artist:

Man Bartlett is a clear pioneer of the developing field of social media art. Through his projects and performances, Bartlett questions how we use social networks and what we use them for, provoking us into reconsidering our online habits. How much does your Facebook profile represent who you really are? Are you using Twitter, or is it using you?

Though Bartlett has recently moved away from online activity, he continues these lines of inquiry into identity and presentation in his collages, featured here. Appropriated from the pages of vintage travel magazines, the composite pieces slice and dice kitschy imagery into visual puzzles that form succinct semiotic investigations.
